Dental Services
Dakota County Public Health partners with Children’s Dental Services to provide dental care to children from low-income families. Children’s Dental staff provide dental care one day per month in the county service center in Apple Valley.

Child Care Assistance
Dakota County administers the Child Care Assistance Program that helps low-income families pay for child care, so they can work, job search, or attend school while moving towards self-sufficiency. Dakota County helps pay for children through age 12 and for children with special needs up to age 14. Learn about the available programs.

Minnesota Family Investment Program
Minnesota Family Investment Program (MFIP)
Minnesota’s cash assistance program that helps families become self-sufficient. MFIP Child Care Assistance can help families who participate in MFIP pay for child care while they look for work or attend training or school to prepare for work as directed in their MFIP Employment Plan.

Public Health Services
